Vitra Tyde 2 Electric Height Adjustable Sit-Stand Desk
For the Vitra Tyde height adjustable desk, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have developed a new family of height-adjustable tables.
Tyde incorporates features to address the acoustic challenges of open plan offices. The electric height adjustment motor is quiet and concealed under the table beneath a sound-absorbing cover and the screens, in acoustic polyester fleece, work with the cover to dampen noise.
The height of the sit-stand table is adjustable from 650 - 1250 mm by means of an electric motor, including feed cable, soundproof cable tray and anti-collision mechanism.

Does it include memory height presets?
Yes — the control unit features an optional memory function for storing up to four preferred heights, plus an LED or OLED display indicating your current desk position.
Is the motor quiet and suitable for open-plan offices?
Absolutely — the desk uses a whisper‑quiet motor, housed within a sound‑absorbing cover. Combined with a polyester‑fleece cable tray, it helps reduce noise in open‑plan environments. Tyde is one of the quietest standing desks available.
What dimensions and weight capacity does it have?
Available with sixes from 140 cm × 70 cm to 180cm x 80cm
Maximum load capacity is approximately 100 kg.
How is cable management handled?
The desk includes an integrated cable channel and a fleece-lined tray, concealing electrification components and ensuring a tidy workspace.
Can I add accessories like monitor arms or screens?
Yes — Tyde 2 uses a flexible bracket system that accommodates accessories such as lamp holders, monitor arms or partitions, which can be repositioned as needed.
What materials and finishes are available?
Tops are offered in melamine, HPL or wood veneer, while frames use durable, powder‑coated aluminium and steel. Several finishes and colour options are available. Adjustable feet compensate up to ±5 mm for uneven floors.
Is the Tyde 2 environmentally responsible?
Yes — the desk is designed with sustainability in mind. It contains 43% recycled material and is 56% recyclable when fully disassembled. It also has an Environmental Product Passport, detailing its carbon footprint and recyclable content.
What warranty and lead time can I expect?
Vitra offer a 10‑year warranty on Tyde 2 desks. Delivery typically takes between 6–8 weeks, depending on specification and lead time.
