DKL means Dining Height K-Wire, with the La Fonda base It’s part of the Eames Wire Chair family, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s.
What makes the DKL different from other Wire Chairs?
The DKL comes with the new La Fonda base, while retaining the same sculptural wire shell design.
Does the chair come with any upholstery?
No – this version is supplied without upholstery, giving it a light, transparent look that showcases the wire shell. However, Vitra also offers options with a seat pad or a seat and back “Bikini” cushion if you’d like added comfort.
Is it comfortable without upholstery?
Yes – the contoured wire shell follows the body’s natural shape, providing support. For longer sitting sessions, a cushioned version may be preferable.
What finishes are available?
The steel wire shell and base are available in chrome-plated or powder-coated finishes.
