Vitra Eames RE DAL Plastic Armchair Fully Upholstered
The Eames Plastic DAL Armchair with the upholstered seat shell on a polished four star base is from the same family of chairs as the Eames Plastic Side chair.
It has increased height in the sides of the chairs to provide built in armrests and the additional upholstery increases overall comfort.
These organically shaped chairs were first created by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950 as part of the New York Museum of Modern Art's "low cost furniture design" competition. They have evolved from the original design with a variety of different bases and the seat shells are now made from recycled consumer plastic.
