The Vitra Physix Conference Chair, designed by Alberto Meda, brings a lighter and more refined approach to meeting room seating. Its distinctive construction uses a highly flexible knitted textile stretched between two side frames, creating a continuous seat and back that adapts naturally to the body.
Rather than relying on conventional upholstery and padding, Physix uses the tension and elasticity of its technical fabric to provide support and comfort. Developed specifically by Vitra and Alberto Meda, the resilient contoured knit flexes in three dimensions, giving the chair its characteristic lightness while providing comfortable support throughout meetings and collaborative sessions.
The Conference version combines this innovative seat with a fixed-height, non-reclining four-star base, creating a clean and composed chair that’s particularly well suited to boardrooms, meeting rooms and conference spaces.
